Ubiquiti Enterprise Audio/Video Fiber - Fiber Optic AV Switch with 20 10G SFP+ Ports and 2 100G QSFP28 Ports
Ubiquiti Enterprise Audio/Video Fiber (EAV-Fiber) is an advanced Layer 3 (Layer 3) switch designed for audiovisual (Pro AV) environments. The device is equipped with 20 10G SFP+ fiber slots and 2 100G QSFP28 ports for high-performance uplinks. The device also offers a console port (CLI), a dedicated 1 GbE out-of-band (OOB) management port, a 1.3-inch LCD touchscreen, and an SMA connector. The switch mounts in standard, 4-post rack cabinets (1U height, required mounting depth from 650 to 1000 mm). The design is based on a galvanized steel SGCC housing.
The switch fully supports the PTPv2 time synchronization standard. An integrated, precise OCXO clock and the ability to connect an external GPS source (via the SMA port) enable operation in Grandmaster, Boundary Clock, or Transparent Clock modes. The switch comes with pre-configured profiles for Pro AV protocols (including SMPTE ST 2110, SDVoE, Dante, AES67, NDI), which accelerates the deployment of ultra-low-latency networks. The kit includes two hot-swappable power supplies and four fan modules. SFP+ and QSFP28 ports support Etherlighting™ visual cable management.
Note: EAV-Fiber is the new name for the EAV-Aggregation device (no hardware changes).

Ubiquiti Enterprise Audio/Video Fiber - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Precision Time Protocol (PTP) is a networking standard used to synchronize device clocks with very high accuracy, which is crucial in professional audio/video (AV) applications requiring precise timing.
The Enterprise Audio/Video Fiber switch supports three modes PTP Clock:
- Grandmaster (GM): Acts as the main time source for the entire network, synchronizing with the GPS reference clock connected to the SMA port.
- Boundary Clock (BC): Receives the time signal from the Grandmaster and forwards it to downstream devices.
- Transparent Clock (TC): Forwards PTP messages, making corrections to account for the time the packet spent traversing the switch.
Enterprise Audio/Video Fiber supports a wide range of AV protocols, including SMPTE ST 2110, SDVoE, Dante, AES67, and others.
It also supports Precision Time Protocol (PTP), IGMP snooping, Quality of Service (QoS), and has built-in Pro AV profiles that make it easy to build optimized, low-latency AV networks on high-speed 10G SFP+ ports.
The SMA port on an Enterprise Audio/Video Fiber switch is used in Grandmaster (GM) clock mode to synchronize the device with an external time source (GPS antenna/clock).
The OOB management port provides dedicated access to the device, completely isolated from the main data traffic. This allows administrators to manage the switch using SSH even when access over a standard network is not possible.
No. The adoption process for an Enterprise Audio/Video Fiber switch must be professionally managed using standard SFP+ copper or QSFP28 optical ports.
The console port provides direct access to the switch's command-line interface (CLI) for system diagnostics and recovery. This allows administrators to manage the device even when network connectivity is completely unavailable.
