TP-Link Tapo T30 KIT is a basic kit designed for building a wireless home automation system and simple alarm monitoring. The package includes a control unit (Tapo H100 Hub) with a built-in siren, Tapo T110 magnetic door/window opening sensor (contact sensor) and Tapo T100 passive motion sensor (PIR). The kit enables the creation of integrated automation scenarios (Smart Actions). This allows for the physical management of other devices in the Tapo ecosystem – for example, automatically turning on smart light bulbs when motion is detected in the hallway or triggering patrol mode on pan/tilt cameras after unauthorized door opening.

The system is operated by the Tapo Hub gateway, which communicates with the sensors using a dedicated, energy-efficient wireless protocol. This technology reduces the load on the main Wi-Fi network and allows the battery-powered sensors to operate continuously for up to 2 years. The system independently monitors the battery status and sends notifications to the user when they need to be replaced. The Hub also functions as a local alarm – it can function as a standard doorbell (playing pre-programmed sounds) or as an alarm siren with a volume of up to 90 dB, activated immediately upon violation of any of the monitored zones. At the same time, the Tapo app displays a push notification on your smartphone, along with an entry in the event log.

Each element is compact and allows for non-invasive, tool-free installation. The reed switch is mounted using strong double-sided 3M tape on window frames, cabinets, or drawers. The motion sensor, on the other hand, can be taped or attached to metal surfaces using the magnet built into the base. This type of installation allows for discreet monitoring of selected rooms without the need for video surveillance, ensuring 100% privacy for household members.
