TP-Link Tapo T110 is a miniature magnetic door and window sensor (reed switch) designed to monitor the status of doors, windows, cabinets, and drawers within Smart Home systems. The kit consists of two parts: the sensor unit housing the electronics and a coordinating magnet. When the two elements separate, the magnetic circuit opens, which the system instantly registers as an opening event. The sensor supports a mounting gap of up to 15 mm between both components, providing great flexibility when installing on thick, uneven, or non-standard door and window frames.

The device does not connect directly to your home Wi-Fi router. A Tapo Hub (sold separately) is strictly required for operation. Communication operates on the energy-efficient Sub-GHz radio band (868 MHz), offloading traffic from the 2.4 GHz band and delivering exceptional wireless range. Thanks to this low-power protocol, the sensor runs on a single standard CR2032 coin cell battery, providing over 1 year of continuous operation (based on ~60 trigger events per day). The Tapo app actively tracks battery health and sends low-battery notifications.

The Tapo T110 serves as a versatile automation trigger (Smart Actions). For example, opening the front door can automatically turn on hallway lighting. Beyond doors and windows, the sensor can monitor refrigerator doors (to ensure they are fully closed), mailboxes, or pet doors, keeping you informed via real-time app logs. It also integrates seamlessly into home security setups: when "Away" mode is armed, unauthorized entry immediately triggers the Tapo Hub's built-in siren and sends instant push notifications to your smartphone.

Installation is completely toolless and non-invasive using the pre-applied 3M double-sided adhesive tape. Its ultra-compact dimensions (61.4 x 37.5 x 12.3 mm) allow discreet placement on furniture, medicine cabinets, and appliance doors.
