Ubiquiti Ethernet Surge Protection Outdoor (UACC-ETH-SP-Pro) is an outdoor surge protection module designed to protect network infrastructure from the devastating effects of lightning strikes and sudden electrostatic surges. (ESD/EMP). The device can handle a maximum discharge current of up to 20 kA. A second version of this device is also available, which protects against impacts of up to 10 kA.

The device operates fully passively – it is installed through two built-in, shielded RJ45 ports. The protective electronics enable lossless data transfer at speeds of up to 10 Gb/s (10 GbE) and full throughput for PoE power. The module's operating principle is based on the rapid absorption of transient currents and dissipation to ground. The device responds to voltage spikes ranging from 100V/s to 1kV/µs, with a DC Spark-Over Voltage of 90V.

The protector is made of durable polycarbonate and has an IPX5 protection class, allowing for safe outdoor installation (e.g., directly on a mast next to the antenna, or next to outdoor surveillance cameras). The module is vibration and shock resistant in accordance with the ETSI300-019-1.4 standard and can operate without any problems in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 65°C.
