TP-Link Tapo C400 KIT is a wireless IP camera designed for monitoring places where there is no access to electrical outlets and LAN network cabling. The device records in 1080p resolution (at 15 frames per second) using a 1/3" CMOS sensor. The wide-angle lens allows for a 116.7° diagonal field of view. After dark, the camera can record in classic black and white mode using infrared LEDs with a range of up to 10 meters, or in full color thanks to two built-in LED illuminators emitting white light.
Power is provided by a built-in 5200 mAh battery, which is continuously charged by the included solar panel. The camera communicates with the home network via Wi-Fi in the 2.4 GHz band (Wi-Fi 4), and video transmission is subject to H.264 compression. It is worth remembering that, as a smart home solution, this model does not support the ONVIF standard or RTSP streaming, which prevents it from being connected to a classic DVR. NVR.
To minimize false alerts from blowing branches or shadows, the camera uses a hardware PIR motion sensor (with a 120° viewing angle) and artificial intelligence algorithms that recognize human silhouettes. Video recordings can be saved locally to a microSD card up to 512 GB (not included) or to the Tapo Care cloud (paid subscription required).
The IP65-rated housing effectively protects the device from rain and dust, allowing operation in temperatures from -20°C to 45°C. Thanks to the built-in microphone and speaker, the user can conduct two-way audio conversations with people standing in front of the camera, and in emergency situations, trigger the integrated 70 dBA siren.
