Ubiquiti Enterprise Campus 48S – L3 Managed Switch 16x 10GbE, 32x 2.5GbE
Ubiquiti Enterprise Campus 48S (ECS-48S) is an advanced Layer 3 switch engineered for high-throughput enterprise network environments. The device delivers a switching capacity of 680 Gbps and a packet forwarding rate of 506 Mpps. The switch is equipped with 48 RJ45 ports: 32 running at 2.5 GbE and 16 at 10 GbE speeds. Four 25G SFP28 optical slots serve as uplinks. In addition, all ports support the Etherlighting™ system, which illuminates connectors to facilitate link and port identification.
The switch supports Layer 2 protocols (including STP/RSTP, LACP, 802.1X control, IGMP Snooping) and Layer 3 routing, including static routing, Inter-VLAN routing, and a local DHCP server. Two integrated 100G QSFP28 ports are dedicated exclusively to hardware switch stacking. This enables linking up to four units into a single logical system, while Cross-Stack LAG support facilitates the creation of redundant links to the aggregation layer. For secure, emergency management isolated from primary network traffic, a dedicated console port and an Out-of-Band (OOB 1 GbE RJ45) interface are provided.
The device is built for continuous enterprise operation. It features dual hot-swappable 550W AC/DC power supplies and four hot-swappable fan modules. The 1U chassis weighs 10.3 kg and requires installation in four-post racks with depths between 650 and 1000 mm. A 1.3" LCM touchscreen display is located on the front panel for quick viewing of system statistics.
Note: Full switch configuration requires a UniFi Network controller (such as the ) running software version 10.6.101 or higher.

Ubiquiti Enterprise Campus 48S – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Stacking allows multiple physical switches to operate as a single logical unit, significantly simplifying network management and provisioning. It also reduces the required number of upstream uplinks—for example, instead of establishing individual connections for each access switch, uplinks can be routed from just two units within the stack. This minimizes cabling complexity, conserves optical transceivers and fiber runs, and streamlines overall network design.
Connecting stacked switches via Cross-Stack LAG to an upstream pair of Enterprise Campus Aggregation switches running MC-LAG establishes a fully redundant, load-balanced topology without introducing complex point-to-point cabling.
No. Dedicated stacking ports can only be utilized once the switch has been assigned to a Stacking Group.
A single stack can include up to four physical units. The Enterprise Campus 24S (PoE) cannot be combined into a single stack with the Enterprise Campus 48S (PoE).
Supported stacking configurations within the same model family:
- Enterprise Campus 24S PoE with Enterprise Campus 24S
- Enterprise Campus 48S PoE with Enterprise Campus 48S
The OOB management port provides dedicated administrative access completely isolated from regular production network traffic. This allows network administrators to manage the switch securely via SSH even if primary network communication is disrupted or misconfigured.
No. The Enterprise Campus 48S switch must be adopted and provisioned exclusively through standard copper RJ45 or optical SFP28 ports.
The console port provides direct serial access to the command-line interface (CLI) for system diagnostics, low-level troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. It ensures complete administrative access even during total network outages.
