The Ubiquiti Dream Router 5G Max is a device that integrates a WiFi 7 router, PoE power, and a 5G modem. It offers tri-band wireless connectivity (2.4/5/6 GHz), a 10G SFP+ port, and four 2.5 GbE ports. Support for eSIM and two Nano-SIM cards allows the system to provide a reliable primary or backup link, while the built-in processor enables IPS/IDS traffic filtering at speeds of up to 2.3 Gbps.
Ubiquiti Dream Router 5G Max – Router with WiFi 7 and 5G Modem
Ubiquiti Dream Router 5G Max (UDR-5G-Max) is an advanced all-in-one console in a desktop format. The device combines a router, WiFi 7 access point, PoE-enabled switch, and an integrated 5G modem. It is a solution designed for demanding homes and small offices that require uncompromising performance and guaranteed network continuity. With a pre-installed 64GB microSD card, the device is ready to support the full UniFi application suite (Network, Protect, Access, Talk, and Connect).
The biggest new feature is the integrated 5G NR Sub-6 GHz modem, which offers download speeds of up to 3.4 Gbps (5G NSA) and upload speeds of up to 650 Mbps (5G SA). Thanks to two Nano-SIM card slots and eSIM support, the router can be used as a primary internet connection (ideal in places without wired internet) or as an automatic backup (failover). The whole thing is complemented by the WiFi 7 standard, which, thanks to its tri-band operation (2.4/5/6 GHz) and MLO (Multi-Link Operation) technology, ensures high wireless throughput, low latency, and improved performance in demanding environments.
In terms of wired connections, the router offers a leap in performance over previous Dream Router models. It is equipped with a 10G SFP+ port and four 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports, one of which offers PoE power supply (15.4W) – ideal for connecting one camera or additional access point. Despite its compact form, the 1.5 GHz quad-core ARM processor enables stable operation of the IDS/IPS protection system with throughput up to 2.3 Gbps, meaning advanced traffic filtering does not slow down typical internet connections.
