Ubiquiti Enterprise Campus 48S PoE (ECS-48S-PoE) is a 48-port Layer 3 switch designed as the foundation of modern campus networks and large enterprise infrastructures. The device is designed to handle massive data traffic and power the most demanding end devices, offering PoE+++ (802.3bt Type 4, Class 8) with up to 90W of power on each of its 48 RJ45 ports. Thanks to such a large power reserve, the switch can easily handle devices such as WiFi 7 access points or advanced PTZ surveillance cameras.
The device is equipped with 32 2.5 GbE Rj45 ports and 16 10 GbE Rj45 ports, allowing you to connect a large number of devices with different operating characteristics without the risk of bottlenecks within the local network. For environments with lower demand, a 24-port variant is also available (ECS-24S-PoE), offering 8 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports and 16 10 GbE RJ45 ports. Regardless of the version chosen, there are four 25G SFP28 ports on the front panel and two 100G QSFP28 ports, which are located on the rear panel and are used for device stacking. A total switching capacity of 680 Gbps guarantees the smooth handling of thousands of simultaneous user sessions.
To ensure business continuity, the switch supports hardware stacking, allowing multiple units to be managed as a single device, providing redundancy in the event of a physical failure of one. Security is also ensured by a fully modular design that includes two hot-swap power supplies (each rated at 1200W) and four fans that can be replaced without interrupting the switch's operation.
Functionally, the device can handle advanced routing between local networks (Inter-VLAN Routing), reducing the load on the main router. Etherlighting™ technology has also been implemented, which, using programmable port illumination, allows for instant, visual identification of connected devices and their assigned VLANs directly on the front panel. Layer 3 and 2 functions are managed centrally through the UniFi Network application. The entire unit is housed in a full-size 1U rackmount enclosure with a depth of almost 50 cm, equipped with a 1.3-inch touchscreen LCD display for easy monitoring of operating and power parameters.
