UniFi Switch Pro XG 48 PoE is a high-performance, fully managed Layer 3 network switch featuring 48 multigigabit Ethernet ports with PoE+++ support (up to 90 W per port). With a total switching capacity of 920 Gbps and four 25G SFP28 uplink ports, it is the ideal core or distribution switch for demanding enterprise and data center environments.
Product Description
The Switch Pro XG 48 PoE combines 10 GbE and 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports, supporting blazing fast connections for modern multigigabit devices. All 48 RJ45 ports support IEEE 802.3af/at/bt (Type 4 PoE+++) for delivering up to 90 W of power per port – enough to power high-demand devices like Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 access points, PTZ cameras, or other enterprise endpoints. The unit offers a maximum PoE budget of 1080 W (when powered via 230 V AC), allowing simultaneous power delivery to dozens of devices while reducing infrastructure complexity.
The switch is optimized for use as a distribution or aggregation switch in complex environments. It features 32× 10GBASE-T and 16× 2.5GBASE-T ports with automatic speed negotiation (from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps), ensuring compatibility with both legacy 100 Mbps devices and modern 10G clients. Additionally, its 4 SFP28 ports provide ultra-fast 25G/10G fiber uplinks to other switches or routing infrastructure.
Operating as a Layer 3 device, it supports inter-VLAN routing, static IP routes, and embedded DHCP server and relay features. The Pro XG 48 PoE also includes a comprehensive Layer 2 feature set: link aggregation (LACP), Spanning Tree Protocol (STP/RSTP), IGMP Snooping with Querier support, 802.1X, DHCP Snooping, port isolation, DSCP-based QoS, and ACLs – enabling robust security and traffic control across the network.
Housed in a sturdy 1U steel rackmount chassis, the device integrates a 1.3″ touchscreen display for real-time status and on-device management. Its Etherlighting™ feature provides illuminated ports for fast visual port identification and VLAN mapping. The switch includes a dedicated input for Ubiquiti’s USP RPS redundant power supply to ensure business continuity in case of main power failure. Management is fully integrated into the UniFi Network platform via UniFi OS, enabling centralized configuration, monitoring, and updates across the entire UniFi infrastructure.
