The Ubiquiti Glassbreak Sensor is a 2-in-1 wireless sensor that combines PIR motion detection with acoustic glassbreak detection. SuperLink technology provides 2 km of seamless integration with UniFi Protect, forms part of an alarm system, and operates for 3 years on a single set of batteries.
Ubiquiti Glass Break Sensor – Glassbreak and Motion Detector
Ubiquiti Glass Break Sensor (USL-Glassbreak) is a battery-powered alarm sensor that integrates acoustic glassbreak detection with a passive infrared (PIR) sensor for motion detection. The device communicates with the network via the proprietary SuperLink protocol, operating in the sub-GHz band (865.1–869.5 MHz for the EU region). Using this frequency allows for a stable transmission range of up to 2 km in line of sight. This makes the sensor an optimal solution for large commercial facilities, warehouses, or office buildings where standard Wi-Fi infrastructure does not provide an adequate signal.
The integrated microphone has been calibrated to analyze the acoustic frequencies associated with the breakage of various types of glass. The system recognizes, among other things, Destruction of standard, tempered, laminated, reinforced, and coated glass panels (with thicknesses ranging from 2.4 mm to 6.4 mm and a maximum size of 1067 x 1626 mm). The device is also equipped with a mechanical tamper switch, which immediately reports any unauthorized removal attempts to the controller. The device natively integrates with the UniFi Protect platform, allowing administrators to fully correlate alarm events with the video surveillance system.
Thanks to optimized power consumption (maximum 0.2W), the device can operate continuously for up to 3 years using two standard CR123A (3V) lithium batteries. The polycarbonate housing allows for non-invasive wall or corner mounting (using dedicated adapters with adhesive tape or screws). The sensor is designed to operate indoors, in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C.
