MikroTik KNOT LR9G kit (RB924iR-2nD-BT5&BG770A&R11e-LR9G) is a versatile IoT gateway designed for telemetry and industrial automation systems. The device acts as an intelligent node that collects data from LoRa wireless sensors (915 MHz version) and transmits it to the cloud or local servers using the energy-efficient LTE CAT-M1 and NB-IoT cellular standards. Thanks to the integrated GNSS/GPS module, the gateway can simultaneously maintain a stable network connection and report its location. This makes the device ideal for monitoring moving assets, logistics, and managing distributed measurement stations.
The device's performance is based on a QCA9531 processor clocked at 650 MHz, which works with 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of NAND flash. Management is performed via the RouterOS v7 system (Level 4 license), giving the user complete freedom in configuring advanced routing, proprietary scripts, and secure VPN tunnels. Additionally, the device boasts a rich set of interfaces: two Ethernet ports, an RS485 (Modbus) serial port for communication with industrial controllers, GPIO control pins, Bluetooth 5.2 modules, and a local Wi-Fi access point. Radio signal stability is ensured by three dedicated SMA female antenna connectors.
The gateway can be powered in three ways: via a standard DC socket, a MicroUSB port, or a PoE-in input. Furthermore, the second Ethernet port offers PoE-out functionality, allowing for direct powering of additional devices such as environmental sensors or IP cameras, without the need for separate cables. With a base power consumption of just 6 W, the design remains fully operational in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 70°C and has an IP20 protection class.
