MikroTik KNOT LR9G kit (RB924iR-2nD-BT5&BG770A&R11e-LR9G) is a versatile IoT gateway designed to support extensive telemetry and industrial automation systems. The device aggregates data from LoRa wireless networks (915 MHz version) and transmits it using the cost-effective LTE CAT-M1 and NB-IoT (NB2) cellular standards. The device can simultaneously maintain active LTE connections and precisely track location via an integrated GNSS/GPS module. This makes the gateway a reliable element in mobile network infrastructure, facilitating the monitoring of resources in transport and distributed measurement stations.
At the heart of the unit is a QCA9531 processor clocked at 650 MHz, supported by 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of built-in NAND memory. The management environment is RouterOS v7 with a Level 4 license, which allows for the implementation of routing rules, custom scripts, and secure tunnels for sensor data. The device is equipped with a set of physical communication interfaces: two Fast Ethernet ports (10/100 Mbps), an RS485 serial port with Modbus support, GPIO control pins, Bluetooth 5.2 modules, and a local Wi-Fi 4 (2.4 GHz) access point. Additionally, the device is equipped with separate, standard SMA female antenna connectors for LTE, GPS, and LoRa modules.
The gateway has three independent power inputs: a standard DC jack (12–57 V), a MicroUSB port (5 V), and an 802.3af/at-compliant PoE-in power input (18–57 V). Additionally, a second RJ45 port allows for PoE-out (802.3af-compliant) power to be passed to peripheral devices, such as IP surveillance cameras or additional environmental sensors. The design, with a base power consumption of just 6W, has been designed for trouble-free operation in a wide temperature range (from -40°C to 70°C) and has an IP20 protection class.
