MikroTik netPower Lite 8P – Outdoor PoE Switch with UPS Functionality
The MikroTik netPower Lite 8P (CSS610-8P-2S+OUT) is a rugged, managed outdoor switch that combines the functions of a PoE switch with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The device is equipped with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports supporting 802.3af/at PoE output and two SFP+ (10 Gb/s) slots for fast uplinks. The device is equipped with a built-in intelligent charger and a power management system that allows for the connection of an external 24V battery (e.g., two 12V gel batteries in series). Thanks to the built-in converter, the switch can provide 48V PoE power even when powered by a 24V battery.
The device runs the lightweight SwOS Lite operating system, which allows for management via a web browser. The design is engineered for reliability in harsh environments – the IP54-rated housing protects the electronics from moisture and dust, and passive cooling eliminates the risk of fan failure. The switch operates stably in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C. The UPS function operates intelligently: in the event of a mains power outage, the device immediately switches to battery power without interrupting data transmission. When power returns, the battery is automatically recharged (lead-acid, AGM, gel, and LiFePO4 cells are supported). Importantly, the system prioritizes PoE output – in the event of a power shortage, battery charging is reduced to maintain the operation of critical network devices.
