Product Overview

UniFi Express 7 is the latest addition to Ubiquiti’s UniFi Cloud Gateway lineup, combining a high-performance 10G router with next-generation Wi-Fi 7 in a palm-sized unit. Powered by the UniFi OS platform with an integrated UniFi Network controller, it allows you to manage your entire network without the need for an external server or Cloud Key. Despite its compact size, the Express 7 can orchestrate up to 30 UniFi devices and connect over 300 clients simultaneously within a single network.

One of the key advantages of Express 7 is its deployment flexibility. It can function as a standalone all-in-one router (Cloud Gateway) for your network, or be adopted as a wired access point within a larger UniFi installation. Additionally, thanks to its mesh capability, you can simply power an Express 7 via USB-C and use it as a wireless mesh node to extend your Wi-Fi coverage without running any Ethernet cables.

Equipped with cutting-edge Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) technology, the Express 7 delivers blazing wireless speeds – up to 5.7 Gbps on the 6 GHz band – along with improved efficiency for dense device environments. Its tri-band 2×2 MU-MIMO design (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz) ensures reliable connectivity for hundreds of devices at once (tested up to 300 clients) with low latency and minimal interference. The Express 7 is fully backward-compatible with Wi-Fi 6/5 and earlier standards, so all your existing devices can connect seamlessly while newer Wi-Fi 7 devices achieve top performance.

UniFi Express 7 also provides enterprise-class security and network features typically found in much larger gateways. It includes a stateful firewall with advanced Layer-7 application filtering, an integrated IDS/IPS Security system for intrusion detection and prevention, and built-in VPN/SD-WAN capabilities for secure remote connectivity. With UniFi OS, you get powerful monitoring and management tools via the UniFi Network application, and you can optionally enable the UniFi CyberSecure service to bolster threat protection with over 20,000 continuously updated IDS/IPS signatures. All of these features are available license-free, making advanced security available right out of the box.
