Ubiquiti Entry Sensor (USL-Entry) is a wireless sensor that monitors door and window openings, designed to work within the UniFi Protect ecosystem. The device is based on a reed switch mechanism, consisting of a main unit and a magnet. It uses proprietary SuperLink technology operating in the sub-GHz band for communication. This solution provides an exceptionally long transmission range of up to 2 km, allowing for effective monitoring of distant points without the need for signal repeaters. The sensor is powered by a single CR123A (3V) lithium battery, which, thanks to its energy-efficient transmission, provides a lifespan of up to 6 years.
The device's design allows for quick and non-invasive installation on door or window frames using adhesive tape or traditional screws. The USL-Entry integrates directly with the UniFi Protect platform, allowing for real-time monitoring of entrance status (open/closed) and receiving notifications via the mobile app or browser. The device is designed for indoor use, in a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C. Thanks to its long-range technology, this sensor solves coverage issues in large facilities where standard Bluetooth or WiFi sensors might lose connection.

Battery life primarily depends on the number of open/close events per day. With an average of 10 open/close events per day, the sensor lasts up to 5 years, and with less frequent reporting it can extend up to 6 years.
Actual battery life may be shorter in cold temperatures or if the sensor has a higher frequency of events.
The Entry Sensor can detect the magnet at a distance of up to 30 mm.
To prevent contact or damage when the door or window opens and closes, ensure the magnet is positioned at least 5 mm away from the sensor at all times.
The sensor normally operates in a low-power sleep mode. Pressing the button temporarily wakes it up and forces synchronization with the SuperLink Gateway.
When pressed, the device is also highlighted on the devices page in UniFi Protect, making it easy to identify.
