The TP-Link MC212CS-2 is a Gigabit WDM Media Converter designed to convert 1000BASE-LX fiber to 1000Base-T copper media or vice versa. Utilizing WDM (Wavelength-Division Multiplexing) technology, it enables bidirectional data transmission over a single single-mode fiber, optimizing fiber usage. The converter is equipped with an SC-type connector and supports signal transmission up to 20 km. It complies with IEEE 802.3ab 1000Base-T and IEEE 802.3z 1000Base-LX standards, featuring an RJ45 port with Auto MDI/MDIX for seamless connectivity. The MC212CS-2 operates at 1310nm for transmission and 1550nm for reception, with front panel LEDs to indicate operational status. It can function as a standalone device or be mounted in TP-Link’s TL-MC1400 chassis.
