Optic splitter is a passive element of network, which splits or merges optical signals connected to its ports. Generally allows to split signal from input to multiple outputs. Splitters are typically used in GPON or GEPON networks. By splitting the signal it is possible to build Point-to-MultiPoint networks - this means that we can use a single fiber to connect more customers.
Splitters are passive devices - there is no power supply needed between OLT (Optical Line Termination) and ONU (Optical Network Unit). The most common is the symmetrical division of the signal in 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16, 1:32, or 1:64 - depending on the model of the splitter.
Mini-module PLC SM SC/APC 1x2 supports wide range of transmitted optical wave lengths (1260~1650nm), low PDL (Polarization Dependent Loss), good distribution of signals, small size and reliability.
Main features:
- The compact design and small size
- Low PDL
- Each fiber terminated by SC/APC connector
- Can be installed in the muff
- Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221 compatibility
- Wide range of wave lengths (1260~1650nm)
- Operating temperature: -40 °C - +85 °C
