TP-LINK TL-WR541G to bezprzewodowy punkt dostępowy z routerem, firewallem pracujący w standardzie 802.11g z prędkością transmisji dochodzącą do 54Mbps.Dzięki zastosowaniu technologii eXtended Range™ WLAN uzyskano bardzo podwyższoną czułość toru radiowego, umożliwiającą uzyskanie znacznie zwiększonego zasięgu transmisji. TL-WR541G wyposażony jest w czteroportowy switch 10/100 Mbps, a także port WAN, który umożliwia współpracę z modemami kablowymi bądź xDSL (np. TP DSL) a także siecią LAN. Transmisja WLAN oprócz kodowania WEP obsługuje również bezpieczny mechanizm autoryzacji 802.11x. Router jest konfigurowalny i zarządzalny przy pomocy wygodnego interfejsu dostępnego z poziomu przeglądarki WWW. Omawiane urządzenie umożliwia łatwą realizację filtrowania adresów MAC, tłumaczenia adresów sieciowych (NAT) oraz wspiera szeroki zakres protokołów m.in. PPPoE.
