Ubiquiti SFP Wizard (UACC-SFP-Wizard) is a diagnostic device designed for fiber optic infrastructure. The tool allows testing, copying hardware profiles, and reprogramming modules operating in standards ranging from basic SFP, through SFP28, to multi-path QSFP28 modules. Thanks to the full implementation of DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) technology, network administrators can monitor parameters such as temperature and precise transmit and receive optical power in real time. The additional hardware laser excitation feature significantly simplifies the physical verification of optical path continuity within a rack or a large distribution node.
The programmer features an advanced hardware profile management mechanism that solves the problem of incompatibility in multi-vendor networks. SFP Wizard allows for seamless reading and cloning of signatures from most optical modules available on the market (e.g., Cisco or HP). It's important to note the architecture of this solution: the target medium for such a copied profile can only be a programmable insert from the Ubiquiti ecosystem. This approach completely bypasses vendor lock-in mechanisms used in third-party switches, while simultaneously utilizing Ubiquiti optics as a universal hardware standard in your own infrastructure.
The device can be operated directly from the built-in 1.9-inch touchscreen or via the UniFi mobile app, which uses the Bluetooth (BLE) protocol for communication. The entire device is powered by an internal lithium-ion battery charged via a standard USB-C port, allowing for 35 to 75 minutes of continuous diagnostic operation.

FAQ: SFP Wizard
SFP Wizard is a portable optical module programmer and diagnostic tool, enhanced through OTA updates via the UniFi mobile app. Using SFP Wizard, you can copy SFP transceiver information from third-party modules to Ubiquiti SFP/QSFP modules and read DDM diagnostic information, including powering up a module’s laser for a link check.
SFP Wizard supports most Ubiquiti and third-party SFP/QSFP modules. It provides profile copying and diagnostics for most models, while writing is limited exclusively to Ubiquiti modules.
Note: UISP Fiber/GPON modules and the UniFi SFP+ to RJ45 adapter are not supported.
The UniFi mobile app is not required to use core SFP Wizard functionality; however, it can be used for OTA updates to SFP Wizard firmware and in the recovery process for Ubiquiti SFP transceivers.
DDM information can be read from inserted modules, both Ubiquiti and third-party. This includes information like Rx/Tx power, bias current, temperature readings, and control of the module laser.
Please note that some third-party modules may not support DDM information or laser control.
When inserting a Ubiquiti SFP module into the SFP Wizard, you will have the option to erase any custom data written to it and restore the factory configuration via the UniFi mobile app.
