TP-Link Tapo S200D is a wireless control button with a rotary dimmer function, designed to manage devices from the Smart Home ecosystem. The device allows you to conveniently control smart lighting (e.g., bulbs and LED strips), sockets, and trigger entire automation scenarios (Smart Actions) without having to reach for your smartphone. The button has three independent functions: single click, double click, and turning the knob left or right. Users can assign any function to them via the app, such as turning them on/off, quickly changing your favorite lighting scene, or smoothly adjusting brightness and color temperature.

The button does not connect directly to your home Wi-Fi router – for proper operation, it requires a Tapo Hub. Communication with the hub takes place in an energy-efficient radio band (868 MHz for the European market), ensuring a stable signal resistant to interference from the 2.4 GHz network and very low power consumption. This allows the device to be powered by just one standard CR2032 coin cell battery, providing over a year of continuous operation.

The button's design allows for installation in various parts of the home. The module consists of a base wall plate (86 x 86 mm) and a round button itself, which connects magnetically. The plate can be screwed onto a wall box in place of the old switch or adhered to the wall using the included double-sided tape. The button itself can be removed from its holder at any time and placed on a bedside table (using the included non-slip feet) or attached directly to a refrigerator or metal bed frame. Placing several such buttons in one room (or stairwell) allows you to non-invasively create a wireless stair or cross-connection system, allowing you to control one light source from multiple locations without modifying the wall wiring.
